The last weeks were very busy - so, i wasn't really able to update this blog as i wanted to. Good God, can you believe it? Just 4 Months and i'll be finishing my Diploma at SAE Cologne. Time is running so fast right now, that i'm afraid to keep up with everything sometimes. :)

Preparing for my first test...
...and learning material from 12 weeks of school now. Wow, ok, i got my coffee and am ready to start.
The only material i don't like are those freaking logarithm formulas *iieek* ... oh well, don't think about Sibyll, just go for it =)

School started at March, 8th...
...and it is GREAT! Man, i need to update this Blog more often *lol*
Since March, 8th, this year, i am studying "Audio Engineering" at the "SAE Institute" in Cologne. First weeks were full of theory, BUT we are learning other stuff too, like Webdesign, Photography, Photoshop...all the basics though, to help ourselves if we should need it later.
The Equipment at SAE is superb - every Musicians heart would beat faster, seeing the phat NEVE - a analogue console - standing there. In a couple of months we will work with the NEVE and i can't wait, to tell the truth!!! *hihi*

Also, i had big luck to have really great classmates. 20 Students in Class and we are only 2 Girls =) Within the first week i found new friends and we are all very excited for the upcoming time there.
End of March, SAE Founder "Tom Misner" showed up to do a Masterclass with us for over 2 1/2 hours. He is an Audio Education's Global Giant - he is viewed as the Big Bad Wolf - but i have to say - after i've met him - he is a pretty cool guy, down to earth, and he knows exactly what he wants.
We had a closer look how the Bee Gee's Song "Saturday Night Fever" was recorded back in the 70's and i can tell you one thing - it was fucking AWESOME to see how they did it over 30 years ago. Also he told us a bit about his past and how he started to build the SAE Imperium, which are currently more than 30 SAE schools teaching in London, Paris, Sydney, Munich, Singapore, Stockholm, Kuala Lumpur, Athens, Madras and several other locations.
He owns the Mastering Studio "Studios 301", one of Germany's biggest Studios and the Company "AMS Neve"
At the moment, i am working on several projects - new Compositions and Stuff for School - but i will keep this blog up to date now and write at least once a week a new update and maybe show you what i am doing in School =)

Busy, busy, busy ...
...with moving to Cologne.
Today we took all of my furniture to Cologne into the new flat and i went shopping at IKEA =) ...which is now...pretty empty, after i was there *LOL*
The flat is coming along but i am still not finished, i am waiting for telephone and internet and the new kitchen now, which will be delivered in 7 weeks and Monday, my nephew and i will drive to Cologne again to finish the rest of the stuff from today =)
What a exhausting and busy day we had ... BUT with a lot of fun!

Finishing the "Digital Mastering" Course this week...
...and pheeew, my last post was from January, 11th? Jeez, seems i was busy hu?! Yes i WAS!
I found a flat in Cologne and will move in February now - and we have Carnival here in Germany as well, where i have two Gig's, doing some Comedy. Besides Rehearsal for the Gig's i had to learn the past 4 weeks for my "Digital Mastering" Course at SAE-Online. Taking this Course was a good decision, my understanding of what exactly "Mastering" means, which things you should keep in mind, which things you should do and which you should avoid, grew quite a bit over the last weeks. =)
Today i will finish my final Assignment and submit it in the evening. We could chose between three Production-Mixes which we have to master, ready to get released on CD. I am quite pleased with the result by now, but i know myself, lol! I will change some things after i got home and listen to it again, before i have to submit it. I am not sure if i am allowed to post the progress here, from the Mix to the Master, but if i am allowed to do so, i will do a "before and after" posting for the Production.
